New York State Senate Votes Down Gay Marriage Bill (New York Times)
Another attempt, this time by a state legislature, to legalize homosexual marriage is decisively defeated. Traditional marriage stands in New York.
Traditional Marriage Wins Big
California, Arizona, and Florida rejected homosexual marriages on November 4th. In California’s case, this is the second time voters have weighed in on the issue. Hopefully their decision will withstand court scrutiny and void the 18,000 homosexual marriages allowed under judicial fiat.
By rough count, at least 30 states now have laws defining marriage as strictly between a man and a woman. Homosexual, polygamist, and insecestuous marriages are not acceptable.
There are other voter-sponsored changes on state level that are worthy of exploring. It is too bad that voter initiatives are not universial in all states or on the Federal level. Now the latter, that would really shake up things.
